Totally agree with you on this point! My issue with this film though is largely how Luke became a hermit. I just can't in my head fathom Luke Skywalker ever pulling a lightsaber on a kid, even for a second. For me that moment just totally killed it.

Every other part of the storyline of his I actually enjoyed, I thought it was a clever move having him end up this way. But, like I say, the pulling the lightsaber on a kid, his nephew of all people. To me that was just not consistent with any part of his character, and so just felt out of place.

What always annoys me is that they could easily have gone a different route and got Luke ending up in the same place. But it is indisputable it was a good film!
