It will be great if the app was improved, it would be good to be able to edit on it again. But also, it frequently freezes while reading articles. I thought this was just my phone but all my friends also have the medium app, and they have the same problem.

We all have relatively new iPhones. It frequently freezes while reading an article which is just highly annoying and makes us all read less than we otherwise would. I don't know if a lot of people have this problem or not but it would be strange if it was just on our phones. Maybe something to look into?

Also, it would be good to be able to have better embed options. For example, sometimes you want to embed an Instagram picture or a picture from a website but it is not possible to do that.

In terms of the algorithms I don't have any problems with them, they seem to work well enough, and frequently show me posts I wish to see and read. Now and then I get posts I don't want to see, and now and then some of them that I click are not great, pretty poor in fact, but I just take that as a sign that everybody gets a chance to have somebody look at what they write. For the most part, they seem to work fairly well and do a good job. Refinement in certain areas would be good, for example, like cutting so much how to make money posts, and better algorithms in regards to fiction and non-fiction and forms of creative writing, but I guess algorithms are always about constant refinement!

Also, I find the show less of this feature to be highly useful for avoiding unwanted content. For example, I hardly see any medium meta anymore because I just kept clicking on show less of this. So, perhaps making the show less of this feature more prominent and perhaps adding a show more of this feature — I don’t know if that already exists? — but making these features more prominent and more well-known perhaps would be helpful.

PS Congratulations on the new job and look forward to seeing what changes you bring! Great to hear you plan to be more hands-on with interacting with the community!
