It can be a tough one to get your head around, certainly blew my mind, but yep, no matter where you are from. It’s because slavery has been so widespread across humanity throughout human history that, statistically speaking, every one of us would be able to, if we could trace our ancestry far enough back, find that we have an ancestor that was a slave and an ancestor that was linked to slave ownership. As there are more people trapped in slavery today than in the entirety of human history, some people won’t have to trace back very far, while some people will only have to trace decades, others hundreds of years while for others it could be thousands but, due to how interrelated everyone is i.e. there were only an estimated 5 million humans on the planet ten thousand years or so back, we are all more interlinked to each other than we think.

Anyhow, thanks for reading! Much appreciated :-)
