Interesting read, thanks for sharing, Danielle! It's certainly an interesting topic. Historically speaking paternity fraud was I believe the main factor behind monogamy, and we simply have not moved beyond that fear. In truth it's something I believe scares every guy, me included I must admit.

Part of me thinks that this fear is ingrained in one way or another in all of us. I've also always suspected that this desire to make certain a woman only carries her partner's child, and this fear that a man will not believe that the child is his if she has sex with others i.e. so he won't stick around and be a father, is what has created our culture of relationship equalling body ownership in the first place. I think it's what led us to having monogamy in the first place.

It's certainly an interesting subject, as with the world being very different to what it once was, it is something that needs to be discussed as I think a more open world with less fear and possessive style beliefs would benefit everyone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! :-)
