Interesting conclusion, Elicia, I came to a similar conclusion myself after experimenting with it. It is certainly a great tool, but the danger is with a single answer system, the answers need to be right, and sometimes there is no right answer, there are just answers and theories, which is why Google is so good, it gives you those options!

Though in addition to Google if used right, I definitely think this could be a great tool to add to every writer's arsenal, the worry is as you say it needs to be used in the right way otherwise it could provide a lot of misinformation and bias! I definitely think they're gonna have to do a lot of work to try to stay on top of moderating the answers, which will be a challenge in itself fraught with risk of bias.
