I think you’ve missed the point here, it’s not about want it’s about the instinctual driving force behind attraction. A bit like how you can’t choose who you find attractive, you cant choose not to have procreation as your root for attraction, even if you don’t want kids. Best way to think of it is like this, no procreation no need for attraction, no need for attraction no need to ever evolve to pair bond. So the desire to procreate led to pair bonding which means procreation is the root of all romantic attraction, whether consciously we want kids or not.
